Whether you are a new TanUp customer or never used Sunbeds before, don’t worry we are here to get you started.

Before you can start, we’ll need to set up your customer account. This will be done in the Studio with one of team members.

All you need to bring with you is a valid Photo ID as we’ll need to confirm you’re over 18 (acceptable forms of ID include passport, driving license or photo ID featuring the PASS hologram). Please note: you’ll only need to present your ID on your first visit so we can verify and activate your account

We have a strict “Think 21” policy, which requires all customers who appear to be under 21 to verify their age by producing valid ID documentation.

Once we’ve checked your ID, make sure to take a few minutes to talk to the Studio team member. They’ll ask about your skin type and assist you in creating the perfect plan to achieve your tanning goals.

Tanning Accelerators

Consider whether you want to apply a tan enhancer or accelerator before you start your session. These are lotions that can deliver greater results than using sunbeds alone, giving you more of a tan for the same amount of time under our UV lights.

Eye Protection

Eye protection is essential and must been worn during every session. TanUp offer a range of goggles and are available to purchase in the Studio.

Tanning without eye protection risks damaging your sight over time.

Payment

Pay for your session (we take cash, card, contactless, and mobile pay) together with any eye protection and/or tan enhancers, and then step into the TanUp room.

Entering the TanUp Room

TanUp Rooms are all numbered and your room number will be given to you before your session depending on your chosen sunbed. All TanUp rooms have a manual turn lock to prevent any other customer entering the room during your session.

For each session TanUp will add additional time at the beginning and end of your sunbed session for undressing and dressing (up to 3 minutes for each). 

Undress, apply any lotion, put on your eye protectors and then lie on / stand in the bed (depending on the machine you’ve chosen). The bed will automatically turn on after the 3 mins so that you have the full amount that you’ve purchased.

As soon as the timer has finished the sunbed will stop automatically, so you can get dressed and leave feeling amazing.
